How Small YouTube Channels Can Get Thousands Of Views
If you want to get thousands of views on your YouTube videos and get more subscribers, you need to take the lessons mapped out in this article very seriously.
In this article, I cover multiple tips and strategies that you can implement (even if you have a small channel).
Here’s how you can start getting more views and subscribers on your videos.
1 | Use A Clickbait Title
I know it sounds horrible to say that and clickbait has a negative connotation attached to it, but it works. These titles help to pique people’s curiosity.
Avoid being misleading by choosing a title that actually relates to your video.
You’ll also want to say the title multiple times throughout your video because YouTube will recognize them and use them as a way to rank your video. Your video will show up for relevant keywords and give you a better relevance score when you use the same keywords in your tags, description, title, etc. Be consistent and stick to the topic.
Clickbait works well when you’re not tricking your audience. Make sure to provide value and never mislead your audience or else they won’t trust you.
2 | Have A Strong Hook
When you start your video, you need a hook that grabs the audience’s attention and gives them a glimpse into the information you’ll cover.
This really comes in handy when you publish your YouTube ad. Since your ad will pop up before their video starts, having a good hook means they’ll be more likely to stay on the page and finish watching your video first.
Once you have your hook, you should tell your audience what you’ll cover in the video so they know what you will be talking about. If this information relates to your title (as it should), your audience will stick around to hear what you have to say.
You also want to tell your viewers to like, comment, and subscribe because this helps with long-term growth. These actions help your video rank higher in search results as well. Not to mention, if you comment back, you will grow a community that’s more responsive. Of course, if people subscribe to your channel, they will see your new videos whenever you publish them.
3 | Create An Offer
You want to have an offer that gets your audience to stick around until the end. This can be a free offer or promo code that you give away at the end of the video.
The longer people stick around to watch your video, the more YouTube will notice and rank your videos higher. This is one way to prove to YouTube that your content is valuable. Watch Time, comments, likes, and subscribes all play a role in how YouTube ranks your videos.
4 | Entertain And Engage
You want to be entertaining and engaging in your videos. You want to mix things up so your videos don’t become boring and monotonous.
If you don’t shoot informational videos that provide a lot of value, then you have to think of ways to keep people on their toes and engaged. You have to keep them watching.
Some strategies to consider: Be yourself. Show that you’re passionate and knowledgeable about the subject. Avoid sounding like a robot.
5 | Use A Call To Action
At the end of your videos, you need to remind your audience about your call to action (CTA). What do you essentially want each of your viewers to do once they watch your video?
Whether it’s hitting the thumbs up button, the subscribe button, or leaving a comment, you have to remind your audience what it is you want them to do. If you also want to promote a free offer such as a digital download, that will be more icing on the cake.
Ideally, you should mention your CTA at the beginning and end of your video.
You’ll also want to include a link to your free download or website in the description below.
I also encourage you to comment on your own videos with CTAs, links, or questions for your audience and pin them to the top. To further help your video, hit the thumbs up and heart button next to your own comment.
6 | Consider Paying For Ads
If you don’t have the patience, very high-quality content, or the ability to get powerful videos out there to grow your following over time, you can pay for views.
A YouTube ad can help you achieve faster growth.
Make sure to watch the video above as I break down exactly how to create a YouTube video ad that will help you achieve success and reach more people.
Similar to Facebook, which wants people to boost their posts, YouTube allows you to pay for exposure which can be a really good strategy to get your content in front of more people.
How it works: Run your regular YouTube videos as ads. This helps people consume the content that you want them to see while giving them value, as opposed to most traditional ads that are trying to sell something from the beginning.
Using the paid features of YouTube also helps people become familiar with you while building trust and credibility, which can lead to more likes, comments, subscribes, and even people jumping into your free course (or whatever you’re offering).
