4 Ways To Increase Cash Flow By Increasing People Flow
Networking gets thrown around a lot in the business world. Many people will say… If you aren’t networking, then you probably aren’t seeing the results you hoped for.
However, outside of the obvious solution of going to conferences, how can you network and increase your income?
You can increase your cash flow by increasing your people flow because when you increase your people flow, you’re increasing your opportunities. By speaking with multiple people on a daily basis and your overall network, you can act on more opportunities and make more money.
Here are four ways you can increase your cash flow by increasing your people flow.
1 | Network On Social Media
While networking in person is still an option, you’re limited to the talent at the networking event you attend. You also have to pay for expenses such as gas for your car and the event itself. Not to mention, you can only talk to so many people during the event.
That’s why I encourage business owners to use Facebook as a networking tool.
As an example, you can join a Facebook group and network by commenting on posts and interacting with the group members. You can also reach out to the members in a private message or book a call with them.
Just like in a typical networking setting, you have to ask yourself how you can bring this new Facebook connection value and vice versa. You could acquire joint ventures where you’re doing a profit sharing type of deal or affiliate in which you’re making money from a product or service they already have. An equity deal or serving as a contractor could also form from these online connections.
Spending an hour a day joining different Facebook groups (and networking inside those groups) can make all the difference in the world for your business. And unlike typical network settings, you won’t have to pay any money or leave your home.
It’s important to keep in mind that a deal could fall through or someone might not want to do business with you. As with all things in life, consistency, determination, and hard work are important, as does being able to bounce back from rejections.
2 | Create Content
A great way to create fresh content and network at the same time is to interview successful people. Get this person on video, on your podcast, or record and transcribe the conversation for a powerful blog post.
You’re picking this person’s brain while he or she gets free exposure, and both parties are building a relationship—it’s a win-win for everyone and results in great content for your audience.
You could even cut a two-minute video clip from a conversation and market it on platforms like Facebook and YouTube.
On top of getting fresh content from a credible source, you’re building trust for your brand as a result of interviewing a credible person. This strategy puts you in a good light and gives off the appearance that you’re on the same level as the credible person because you’re associating with him or her. These interviews can lead to you increasing your rates and more relatable opportunities.
You’re also leveraging the person’s followers because he or she is likely to share the piece of content as well. You can also target this person’s audience with a Facebook ad, and through this introduction, some of his or her followers will follow you.
There are many advantages to interviewing other influencers, content creators, and successful people.
3 | Invite People To Book A Call With You
When creating content, whether you’re interviewing an established source or writing an article for your brand, have your call to action revolve around booking a call with you.
You can find out more about your audience during these phone calls, which could lead to new inspiration for content. As a friendly reminder when interviewing, it’s a good practice to always ask if you can record the call.
Gary Vaynerchuk is always doing this. He creates content via his Q&A’s and puts the piece of content on his YouTube channel, Instagram, etc.
You have to be willing to pick up the phone for 15-30 minutes to discover new opportunities. Not every call will turn into a client or business partner, but you can create more content from the conversations you have. A powerful piece of content can stem from the advice and free information you give to your callers, so make sure to share it on your website and social media platforms.
4 | Attend Events And Conferences
Conferences and events still hold a lot of value and allow you to meet like-minded people and other experts in your field.
From one connection—just one—you can cover the price of the admission for the conference whether it’s via someone you networked with at the conference or a referral.
There are a couple of ways to come out of one of these events with a positive ROI.
You could earn your money back from a person (or referral) when they hire you for your service or product, or you could make your money back by leveraging the knowledge you gained at the conference. You can also grow your assets by creating content from the event, which may result in new opportunities.
While there are new ways to network, attending events and conferences will always be worthwhile.
